THE TIGRESS

Following my late wife’s death somehow this image came into my mind and would not leave.

So I began painting. I would call this painting a surreal scene. I would never even begin to try to explain or help anyone to interpret it.

For days upon days I began painting. Perhaps it was a catharsis for me—I cannot say. But the more I painted the more I felt some kind of a strange relief and even assurance.

Anyway The Tigress behind some kind of a stone-like wall appears as a sanctuary of lily-like petals appears in the foreground. I almost feel like this scene is an unending story of life itself. And death, that mysterious and dreaded thought doesn’t seem to matter as The Tigress appears free from all the elliptical surroundings.
