 RECEIPTS(c)

You’re in way too big of a hurry when you disregard looking at your receipts from purchases.

I’ve learned the hard way.

Lei and I looked at our receipt sometime ago at our grocery store and found we had bought 21 bananas.  We eat bananas every morning.  I whack one banana about seven times into small pieces.  But we never buy more than four or five at a time.  Why?  You got it, “They ripen much too fast.”

When we raced back to show the young lady at the register, she quickly corrected her mistake.

Do you check your receipts?  And perhaps even more importantly, do you keep them in case you have to make a return.

The word receipt comes from recepta, meaning ‘to receive.’  If you check your receipt and discover the store makes the mistake, you win.  If not, you just might lose.  Unquestionably millions and millions of dollars  are kept by retailers intentionally or unintentionally when over charges occur.

Only recently I thought I had picked up Lei the perfect new pair of swimming shorts. However, when I went home with the surprise, the size I mistakenly bought was like ten times too big for her petite size.  Fortunately, I had kept the receipt.

In a way I feel that Almighty keeps a receipt each day for my actions, my attitudes, and my abilities.  I either make a positive difference in people’s lives; or a negative one.  Thankfully He loves us in spite of our senseless blunders and foolish mistakes.

Now?  You bet, I check my receipts…and keep them.
