ONE BITE AT A TIME

I have often said to family and friends when trying to complete a really tough task, “You can’t eat the elephant in one big bite, only one bite at a time.”
Recently in my mind I thought about this concept a bit deeper. Those who try to eat the elephant in one big bite are going to deplete their energy sooner, often discover that haste makes waste; and defeat themselves in projects they can’t handle alone.
One bite at a time, however, makes your life so much more simple and your efforts more efficient. You’re not overloading yourself with unrealistic expectations. You see quicker results, too, and gain greater personal gratification.
Hope this inspires you. By the inch it’s a cinch—but let’s face it, by the yard it’s hard.
Just ‘one bite at a time.’
