“Be alert, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour”
Lions. Lioness. Hard to believe that their roars can be heard five miles away. Those darling little cats following them around are called cubs.
Strangely enough the lionesses are the main hunters for the cat family. That family is better labeled ’pride.’
Although these amazing animals live primarily in savannas and tall grasslands they can be found in certain jungles as well.
How fast are these majestic creatures? They can actually run up to 50 MPH if you can believe that. Naturally those with heavy manes are stunning to watch at high speeds.
Lions can be sleepyheads at times, too, bedding down for as many as 20 hours at a time.
These beasts love nocturnal hunting in a group to bring down their prey. They like to form a semicircle to apprehend those ugly wildebeest and exotic zebras. They furthermore can gobble down close to 90 pounds of food. Usually eating at least two times a week.
What an animal! Truly king of the wild. An enormous and mighty predator that must be respected by everyone and everything that comes in contact with them.
….just like the Devil himself.
