Introduction
IntroductionYour journey in this life is best understood when you relate your own story to others; this is an event you have personally experienced.Stories can be powerful and interesting.Please allow me to tell you my story. I employGod’s Bible in my journey upon this green globe, especially, in the personal battles I have had. As I commit scripture verses to memory, I embrace them as a haven from an awful storm upon the seas. When I come into the harbor, no matter how torn my sails may be, no matter if they have been rent to ribbons, I find unbelievable peace, comfort, and assurance through God’s Bible.
Just one verse can make all the difference in theworld to my stressed psyche. His scripturessoothe my soul. At times, I feel like the blindman in Jesus’ day that exclaimed, “...one thingI know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see”(John 9:25).You too, can be inspired, encouraged, and builtup, as a result of leaning upon the Bible. It isfuel for your inner fire, strength for your innerself, and food for your hungry faith.Additionally, when you turn to the Bible, you become better equipped to cope with insomnia,headaches, heartaches, and any other aches you are suffering from.
In the following pages, I am sharing ageless verses that have given me so much comfort and
support in my sicknesses, my sorrows and the most trying disappointments of my life. God’s memos will provide you with the same comfort and support. I must say, His memos have been the best bread I have ever tasted this side of heaven.
Guess what? His memos will be the best bread for you, too.
A Memo in Our Mailbox
We are all in this same boat, called living. We all have some sort of addiction or condition:
greed, egos, inferiorities, lust, sex, booze, drugs, gambling, materialism, phobias, being a
shopaholic, etc. No person who breathes air is without some kind of battle. We all cope with
dilemmas each day upon this planet. The one, most powerful, ageless, and unimaginable force that can help you and me overcome our addictions and cope with our persistent phobias is found in the Bible. Each day God provides a daily memo for you and me to read. Many years ago, I chose to live by God’s word every day. You can rest on His Bible and feed upon it. You can beat your biggest battles with the Bible. I have also discovered that you and I can take our Bible with us—carry it in our minds and our hearts. In quoting and reading numerous scriptures daily, we are able to battle those persistent adversities. Therefore, I find the greatest source of strength, comfort, confidence, and assurance is through God’s powerful and marvelous memos.
When you choose to read and commit scriptures to memory, then you can experience the inner
joy, peace and spiritual support that is accessible to you. Once you allow God to interact with you through His Bible, your battles can be won. There is supernatural energy, food, and strength to be discovered in God’s Bible. The Bible is the Lord’s love letter to us, a special daily memo in our mailbox. His Bible provides us with that warm heavenly hug. The following memos are verses and chapters I often quote for comfort and reassurance. I hope you will gain the enormous power and that unique inner consolation that only our great God can provide.
I encourage you to take these verses with you, in your mind and in your heart, wherever you go in this world. Carry His scriptures each day in the suitcase of your soul. There is nothing banal about God and His awesome Word. He has the uncanny way of making each verse tapered just for you and me. When He speaks, the strength comes. Each day He has that extra email, that memo in your mailbox, just waiting for you to read, receive and believe. Study and memorize His Word and you will discover that the Bible will make all the difference in your life.
Genesis 1:1-3
In the beginning God created the heavens and
the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and
void; and darkness was on the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God was hovering over the
face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there
was light.

Genesis 28:15
Behold, I am with you and will keep you
wherever you go, and will bring you back to this
land; for I will not leave you until I have done
what I have spoken to you.
Ruth 1:16-17
But Ruth said:
“Entreat me not to leave you,
Or to turn back from following after you;
For wherever you go, I will go;
And wherever you lodge, I will lodge;
Your people shall be my people,
And your God, my God.
17 Where you die, I will die,
And there will I be buried.
The LORD do so to me, and more also,
If anything but death parts you and me.”

Psalm Chapter 1
Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.
4 The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm Chapter 8
“O LORD, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth,
Who have set Your glory above the heavens!
2 Out of the mouth of babes and nursing infants
You have ordained strength,
Because of Your enemies,
That You may silence the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of
Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
4 What is man that You are mindful of him,
And the son of man that You visit him?
5 For You have made him a little lower than the angels,
And You have crowned him with glory and honor.
6 You have made him to have dominion over the
works of Your hands;
You have put all things under his feet,
7 All sheep and oxen—
Even the beasts of the field,
8 The birds of the air,
And the fish of the sea
That pass through the paths of the seas.
9 O LORD, our Lord,
How excellent is Your name in all the earth!”

Job 23:10-12
But He knows the way that I take;
When He has tested me, I shall come forth as
gold.
11 My foot has held fast to His steps;
I have kept His way and not turned aside.
12 I have not departed from the commandment of
His lips;
I have treasured the words of His mouth
More than my necessary food.

You will show me the path of life;

Psalm Chapter 23
The LORD is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the
shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence
of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the LORD
Forever.

That I might not sin against You.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
2 A time to be born,
And a time to die;
A time to plant,
And a time to pluck what is planted;
3 A time to kill,
And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
And a time to build up;
4 A time to weep,
And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
And a time to dance;
5 A time to cast away stones,
And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
And a time to refrain from embracing;
6 A time to gain,
And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
And a time to throw away;
7 A time to tear,
And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
And a time to speak;
8 A time to love,
And a time to hate;
A time of war,
And a time of peace.

Ecclesiastes 12
Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth,
Before the difficult days come,
And the years draw near when you say,
“I have no pleasure in them”:
2 While the sun and the light,
The moon and the stars,
Are not darkened,
And the clouds do not return after the rain;
3 In the day when the keepers of the house tremble,
And the strong men bow down;
When the grinders cease because they are few,
And those that look through the windows grow dim;
4 When the doors are shut in the streets,
And the sound of grinding is low;
When one rises up at the sound of a bird,
And all the daughters of music are brought low.
5 Also they are afraid of height,
And of terrors in the way;
When the almond tree blossoms,
The grasshopper is a burden,
And desire fails.
For man goes to his eternal home,
And the mourners go about the streets.
6 Remember your Creator before the silver cord is loosed,
Or the golden bowl is broken,
Or the pitcher shattered at the fountain,
Or the wheel broken at the well.
7 Then the dust will return to the earth as it was,
And the spirit will return to God who gave it.
8 “Vanity of vanities,” says the Preacher,
“All is vanity.”
9 And moreover, because the Preacher was wise,
he still taught the people knowledge; yes, he
pondered and sought out and set in order many
proverbs. 10 The Preacher sought to find
acceptable words; and what was written was
upright—words of truth. 11 The words of the
wise are like goads, and the words of scholars
are like well-driven nails, given by one
Shepherd. 12 And further, my son, be
admonished by these. Of making many books
there is no end, and much study is wearisome to the flesh.
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter:
Fear God and keep His commandments,
For this is man’s all.
14 For God will bring every work into judgment,
Including every secret thing,
Whether good or evil.

Isaiah 26:3
You will keep him in perfect peace,
Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You

Isaiah 30:15
For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel:
“In returning and rest you shall be saved;
In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”
But you would not,

Isaiah 40:28-31
Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the LORD,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases
strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the LORD
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 41:10
Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

evil, to give you a future and a hope.

“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show
you great and mighty things, which you do not
know.”

Lamentations 3:21-23

Therefore I have hope.
22 Through the LORD’s mercies we are not
consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.

Hosea 6:1-3
Come, and let us return to the LORD;
For He has torn, but He will heal us;
He has stricken, but He will bind us up.
2 After two days He will revive us;
On the third day He will raise us up,
That we may live in His sight.
3 Let us know,
Let us pursue the knowledge of the LORD.
His going forth is established as the morning;
He will come to us like the rain,
Like the latter and former rain to the earth.

Micah 6:8
He has shown you, O man, what is good;
And what does the LORD require of you
But to do justly,
To love mercy,
And to walk humbly with your God?
