GIVE WAY

Recently I attempted to turn into a lane that would take me onto the interstate. In my rearview mirror I noticed a man behind me as he was approaching in a large black SUV.

He quickly speeded up to cut me off and he did. I quickly gave way to this petulant person and allowed him to race through the feeder road. What madness we see today, huh? Fortunately, I was still able to get upon the interstate to return home.

I read recently that road rage incidents involving guns have increased significantly with a 400% increase. This increase has resulted in many crazy road rage murders between 2014 and 2023. In 2023, 481 people were shot in road rage incidents, and 777 people were killed in such incidents between the same period, 2014 and 2023. 

When I spoke in London, England some years ago I was intrigued by the wording on their Yield Signs. They read, GIVE WAY. Next time you are durst by some maniac at the wheel I suggest the you give way rather than attempt to join the rage war.

That’s right, just GIVE WAY.
